Tourism

When we speak about tourism in the Czech Republic, our capital, Prague, is the first place which comes to our minds. Prague is probably the most frequently visited city in the Czech Republic and we all can imagine its centre, full of hordes of tourists who come to visit it all over the year. They like it so much. And I think that these tourists are not only the young generation visiting ´cool´ places like discos or pubs. I am pretty sure that every generation visiting Prague finds something to be admired, starting from the awesome architecture, which is the most visible thing.

And what are the benefits and drawbacks? It depends on whether you evaluate the situation from the point of view of a shopkeeper or hotel/restaurant owner or if you live in the centre of a city and you just want to live your life in a quiet, not overcrowded place.

The crowds are one of the drawbacks for sure. You can't certainly enjoy the real spirit of a place with hundreds of other people. It is difficult to find a free table when you go to a restaurant, it is better to book it in advance. Another drawback is, speaking of restaurants, the prices of food and drinks. The prices are very high in the centre of Prague.

However, there are benefits as well. The biggest one is that the tourists contribute to the local economy. It certainly signifies a big profit not only for all restaurants, pubs, shops and places of amusement, but for museums and galleries as well.

Another plus is the large number of restaurants, cafés and shops from which you can choose. And the offer of varieties of goods is great, the market must satisfy the customers.

In the end, it is upon everyone if s/he chooses to live in a crowded place and have everything within reach or live in a small town, without tourists, but not having so much choice where to go shopping or eating out.
